Vacancy Position: Civil Engineer/Hydraulic Modeler
PURPOSE:
-
To work as a member of the Consultancy to achieve the goals and objectives set by the company.
-
To carry out consultancy services for clients in the areas of hydrology/hydraulic modelling related to stormwater, water, wastewater, subdivision, environmental consenting, project management and related areas of specialisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
To carry out consulting services for clients on assigned projects, including:
-
the preparation of expressions of interest and project proposals;
-
the preparation of fee estimates and the negotiation of fees for services with clients, ensuring that projects operate on a profitable basis,
-
development and running of numerical models as well as the subsequent design recommendations and technical reporting,
-
project work in accordance with the project brief and budget.

To ensure that all work undertaken is in accordance with appropriate professional and technical standards and practices.
-
To ensure the budgets and programmes are set for all projects for which the employee is responsible for, and where necessary, ensure corrective actions are initiated and resolved.

To develop and maintain professional profile with key clients and the engineering/scientific community generally.

To maintain and extend own skills through continuing education and equivalent personal endeavour (including reading current literature).

To identify market opportunities and undertake marketing initiatives, to fully exploit the resources and special skills of peers, and help develop and promote new, innovative, environmental services to clients.

To research, recommend and introduce agreed new services, procedures and technologies to gain and retain industry leadership.

To bring to management’s attention areas where improvements can be made.

To market the products and services of the whole company wherever possible.

To be aware of and implement the strategic directions of the company.

To take reasonable care for your own health and safety, comply with reasonable instructions as issued by the Consultancy to ensure compliance with the HSWA.

3 waters engineering with a focus on stormwater management including design of treatment and attenuation system.
-
Land Development engineering: design, approvals at the Local Council or Regional Council level, contract and construction management
-
Technically minded and practical. Ideally, 3-8 years work experience, preferably in New Zealand.
Other qualifications or experience:

Hydrology/hydraulic modelling
-
River Engineering
Qualities:
-
Must be client focused and organised, with good time management to meet project timeframes and quality standards.

Have good communications skills, written and verbal.
-
Can operate in a team environment and work collaboratively with other staff members.
-
Must hold New Zealand Work Visa.
